Expert opinion costs

Often, one of the first questions asked of an expert is: How much does an expert report  cost? Since this depends on a variety of  factors, we offer to clarify this in a  personal consultation. As a very simple rule of thumb, you  can expect approximately €15 per  foot, plus additional expenses and  travel costs.

Sports boat survey

You want to sell your boat or yacht, or perhaps buy a different one. No matter what situation you are in as an owner, you definitely need a reliable assessment of the  boat's condition and equipment. This requires not only our professional expertise but also a systematic approach and standardized documentation. Depending on the type of assignment, we will inspect the condition of the hull, superstructure,  rigging (where possible), technical systems, and all other fittings and fixtures. For purchase, sale, and valuation reports, we pay particular attention to all safety-related aspects, as well as  navigation and steering systems. All reports, including damage assessments, are conducted and documented according to the  guidelines of the VUSS (Association of Independent Recreational Boat Experts).

Purchase, sale and valuation reports

If you decide to commission us to prepare an expert report, we will work with you to develop a written order confirmation. This will detail the  exact services to be provided and the estimated costs. A recreational boat expert report can include, for example: Examination of the boat on land or in the water to determine its condition in relation to its service life Identification of existing or potential damage Hull moisture measurement Inspection for osmosis damage Visual inspection of the engine, gearbox, and drive components Sea trial to test the engine's functionality, including a full-throttle run (3-5 minutes at full RPM) Summary assessment of the engine and drive components Sea trial under sail and inspection of the sails, standing rigging, and running rigging Please note that the boat inspection time depends on the boat's size and the scope of the work. You should allow at least one working day. If the boat is to be inspected both on land and in the water, a crane will be required. This may mean that we need to schedule a second  appointment with you.
